Many of our international students have excelled in their studies and are now enjoying successful international careers.

Matias Alan Larrain Sarmiento – Chile

Matias studied the Diploma in Telecommunications Network Engineering at TAFE SWSi’s Lidcombe College. He was also the recipient of the BECAS Chili Scholarship. An agreement between Universities Australia and the Government of the Republic of Chile, the scholarship program supports Chilean PhD and Masters student’s to study in Australia.

“I chose TAFE SWSi, because it is one of the best institutes providing vocational training in Australia.

“In my case I was interested in their quality training, equipment and programs, including training in Microsoft and Cisco. 
“With the knowledge that I have acquired, I feel confident that I can get a promotion or provide bilingual IT support in one of the many international companies that have branches in my country.”

Shobha-Bassi.jpgShobha Laxmi Shrestha – Nepal

Shobha studied the Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Pathology Testing) (MSL50109) while working part-time at a pathology testing laboratory. Shobha was also named the 2012 SWSi International Student of the Year.

“My studies at TAFE SWSi helped me explore the practical side of the job, gave me the chance to learn new skills and allowed me to meet new friends.”

Muhammad is from Pakistan and has just completed the Advanced Diploma of Telecommunications Network Engineering (ICT60210) at Lidcombe College.
Muhammad’s employer, Sarhad University of Science and Technology, Pakistan has sponsored his trip to Australia to further develop his professional skills.
